A Grell Tale

We are so glad you have taken time to check in on our lives. First and foremost, God is the author of this story. Every thing we do, say, and have is His.
Jared and I have been together since 1998, and married since 2003. After four long years of trusting God, he blessed us on August 1, 2009. Balen James is the most "perfect-for-us" little man in the world! We LOVE being parents and just can't get enough of him.
I love to spend time sharing our story with you, and I truly enjoy getting to hear your comments as well! We hope you enjoy watching our family grow. Thanks for stopping by.

Just call me Wanda!

Jared's first cow he raised was named Wanda. Unfortunately Wanda passed away this spring at the old age of 13. Let's pause for a moment of silence..........

Old Wanda had been through it all over the years. She was one mean mamma when she had a baby on the ground. She especially hated women. As I was on the floor the other day with my mom I made the comment about how much I just feel like an animal being ran through the chute!
If you know me well, I am extremely private and modest when it comes to my body.
Well...
I have been kicked, poked on, drugged up, stretched out, plugged up, humiliated, violated, cut open, sucked on, thrown up, can't sit, spent HOURS in the bathroom, stitched up, waited on, pumped out, hormonal, and constipated for a week now. And I still have to walk around on my toes!

Just call me Wanda!
I am also not a person to brag about myself but after thinking over this list I feel entitled to point out one good thing about my body right now that I am proud of. When I went into the hospital I had gained a total of 30 pounds exactly. I left 20 of those pounds at the hospital, except for the 7 pound boy we brought home. I stepped on the scales this morning and at exactly one week I only have 6 pounds left to lost to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I don't care what bad thoughts some of you are thinking of me! :) I am just going to enjoy this step closer to feeling normal again!

  1. Oh my gosh he is so precious!! Congrats guys! I love seeing Jared with Balen; such a great dad. Annie....all I can say about your list of embarrasing post delivery things: TOTALLY UNDERSTAND! Hang in there. It does get better. Rest. Rest. Rest.

  2. Annie... try this concoction... IT IS AWFUL, but may help. It was the last step for me before the hospital. Equal portions of prune juice and milk of magnesia (as if that wasn't bad enough) warm it in the microwave. Drink it (in one big gagging gulp) and do it again in three hours if no movement. It took me exactly 3 hours and then "things broke loose". I am pretty private about that kind of stuff too, but it DID help me and I hope to help you. Love you and I am so proud of you!!!
