A Grell Tale

We are so glad you have taken time to check in on our lives. First and foremost, God is the author of this story. Every thing we do, say, and have is His.
Jared and I have been together since 1998, and married since 2003. After four long years of trusting God, he blessed us on August 1, 2009. Balen James is the most "perfect-for-us" little man in the world! We LOVE being parents and just can't get enough of him.
I love to spend time sharing our story with you, and I truly enjoy getting to hear your comments as well! We hope you enjoy watching our family grow. Thanks for stopping by.

My Name Is Earl!

It's just been crazy around the Grell household. It has been so long since I have sat down and wrote anything. Let's see. Last week I attempted to host a Premier Jewelry Party. Notice I said attempted! I worked my booty of cleaning my house. By the way, I am learning that having a baby brings a whole new meaning to the act of cleaning. It is done on Balen's terms, not mine, which means I have to start days earlier than I would have. Anyway, long story short, jewelry lady didn't get invitations sent and not a single person showed up! So that was fun.

We also took family pictures last week. I have already posted a few of those. We wanted to get some good pictures before Mark lost his hair. He started his first round of chemo on Monday and Tuesday. He is home and doing okay.

Then on Friday Balen and I took off for Stillwater to spend the day with Brandi and Jillian before everyone showed up for walkaround. We had the best weekend. Every year my college friends and husbands/boyfriends meet up at homecoming. This year we all spent the night together at Brandi and Adam's house in Stillwater. We cooked dinner, went to walkaround, then had game night!

The next morning I attended my first tea party! Scott and Bethany were up from Houston and are expecting a sweet baby boy in December. Instead of doing a huge shower we had a sweet little tea party. Brandi had jams, scones, and creams imported from England. Krissa also made some very yummy baked oatmeal. I hope it was special for Bethany. It was so fun just relaxing and catching up with everyone!

These last pictures are hilarious! Balen loves to sit up like a big boy on the couch. Jared sat him up while I was cooking dinner. When he came back inside Balen was still just chillin' watching My Name is Earl on TV! Aren't we great parents! You have to look hard to see the little guy on the couch!

And last, but certainly not least, we have had THREE consecutive nights of precious sleep. He sleeps through the night here and there but the last three nights have all been perfect! Go Balen!!
