A Grell Tale

We are so glad you have taken time to check in on our lives. First and foremost, God is the author of this story. Every thing we do, say, and have is His.
Jared and I have been together since 1998, and married since 2003. After four long years of trusting God, he blessed us on August 1, 2009. Balen James is the most "perfect-for-us" little man in the world! We LOVE being parents and just can't get enough of him.
I love to spend time sharing our story with you, and I truly enjoy getting to hear your comments as well! We hope you enjoy watching our family grow. Thanks for stopping by.

I Can Die a Happy Man

As a father, there are certain things you dream of passing on to your son...family stories, how to bait a hook, the love of Iba man-to-man defense, passion for tax free growth, why OU is in fact the evil empire, how to open a door for women, and movie quotes from Caddyshack.
Annie has warned me that I will regret teaching Balen certain things, such as sticking our fingers up our nose and laughing uncontrollably. I think I'm in the clear on this one, we practiced it for a month now and he hasn't tried it in public yet. Tonight, I passed on something to Balen that is near and dear to my heart. It was something I learned at a young age, around Balen's age. I also had it taken away from me at a young age as well, although not documented in my baby book I would suspect it was around the age of 3. I was introduced to The Three Stooges. Larry. Moe. Curly. The Pick Two. Apparently, I took to the Stooges so well that I "Pick Two'd" my grandmother in the eyes. That was it for me and the Three Stooges, but I never forgot it. I never let that passion in me die. For those of you that weren't around in the 30's or those that were underprivileged as a child, here is a short clip on what you missed out on...

So when Annie went to town to exercise, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to pass the Stooges on to Balen. The kid's a sponge. Needless to say, he caught on quickly.

Watch out Grandma's...

  1. MY BOY MY BOY!!!!!! Jared what a great job you are doing teaching the young man about what really matters in life. Lets pitch in the use of fire arms in a couple of years. I think I already bought one for him. Granddad
