A Grell Tale

We are so glad you have taken time to check in on our lives. First and foremost, God is the author of this story. Every thing we do, say, and have is His.
Jared and I have been together since 1998, and married since 2003. After four long years of trusting God, he blessed us on August 1, 2009. Balen James is the most "perfect-for-us" little man in the world! We LOVE being parents and just can't get enough of him.
I love to spend time sharing our story with you, and I truly enjoy getting to hear your comments as well! We hope you enjoy watching our family grow. Thanks for stopping by.

Yea!!!

Today was the best day so far! This is my third day being alone with Balen all day. We miss Daddy! I made it through a visitor, 2 doctor's appointments, a few stops for my mom in Ponca and I made it back home still feeling strong.

Little Balen finally got to return his Bili blanket today. Doc says he is looking great. Because of all I have gone through we got a rough start with breast feeding. The doctor is having me feed first and then supplement so that the boy can get some meat on his bones! We are almost back to his birth weight. He should have been there about 3 or 4 days ago. He is still just as precious as can be. I don't want to jinx myself but the boy popped out on a schedule! Nights are great so far.

My doctor's appointment went well also. He said it looks like there isn't any infection. Everything is healing good. My blood count is slowly rising. I was a little anemic going into the hospital. I think they said it was somewhere around 34 or 35. After labor I dropped down to a 22. He said I should have had a transfusion but he knew I was young and healthy and wanted to avoid it at all costs. Today my blood count was up to 26.5. He said every three points is a unit of blood. He thought this was great and said it could take over a month to build back up to normal. Still no lifting or over doing it for 3 or 4 more weeks. As long as I am feeling this good I am fine with that! I was SO relieved to hear nothing but good news today. I don't know how much more backtracking I could have handled!

Thanks for all of your prayers! We are doing good.
